Demonstrations:

Sustainability in Your Backyard
11am - Noon and 2 - 3pm
Attend a guided tour of NCAT's free-standing solar greenhouse, rain-water catchement system, native grass demonstration plots and composting bins. Learn how to add these low-cost sustainable projects into your own backyard. Each tour is limited to 40 people.
 
Spinning Demonstration
Watch natural fiber be handspun into knitting and weaving materials. Bring the kids to see animals from which these fibers are collected, including lambs and goats!
 
S.A.V.E. Foundation
The S.A.V.E. Foundation (www.savemobile.org) will demonstrate making biodiesel from vegetable oil.
 
Hybrid Car Display
Local car dealers will have a selection of hybrid and flex-fuel vehicles on display!
 
Vermicomposting
12-12:30pm and 3-3:30pm
Learn from NCAT’s Jeff Schahczenski how to get worms to eat your garbage (vermicomposting) and make wonderful fertilizer for your plants. Handouts will be provided.
